Simple Hanging Camper Table
How It’s Built
Today's project is a breeze. We're going to discuss the simple hanging table that's a part of my rig.
To create this, I cut a scrap of 1/2-inch plywood 24 inches long and 12 inches wide. Then, I stained it dark walnut to match the existing OVRLND camper wood accents.
After that, I drilled four small holes in the corners, just large enough for the diameter of my cordage. I purchased the paracord and two carabiners at a hardware store for a great price. The carabiners are rated for 10 lb. I attached two pieces of cordage to each carabiner using double bowline knots. Then, I passed the tail end of the cords through the plywood and secured them with a simple overhand knot.
It takes a little trial and error to achieve the perfect level, but the job is complete once you do. The hardware I utilized to attach to the Overland camper can be found in the link below.
The table remains stable because it is supported by four separate pieces of cordage. I don't put much weight on it, mostly my coffee setup. However, if you need something sturdier to handle more weight, you could use a larger static cord and carabiners. I designed the table this way so that I could easily remove it from the wall and use it as a desk both indoors and outdoors or store it away conveniently.
